Port Washington Historical Society (PWHS) Resource Center was founded in 2000 to assist researchers, historians, and to some extent, genealogists.  The Resource Center is operated as a reference library and archives that is open to the public.  It is staffed by Volunteer Assistants.

Scope of the Collections

The PWHS Resource Center collection includes archival materials from the following locales in Northern Ozaukee County:

  • City of Port Washington
  • Town of Port Washington
  • Town of Belgium
  • Town of Fredonia
  • Town of Grafton
  • Town of Saukville
  • Communities within these townships : Belgium, Dacada, Fredonia, Waubeka, Saukville, Lake Church, Newburg, Holy Cross, Knellsville, St. Finbar.

The PWHS Genealogy Collection is on permanent loan at Luxembourg American Cultural Society. Members of the Port Washington Historical Society enjoy access to the (LACS) Research Center and Archives in Belgium, Wisconsin. They are located in their new facility at 100 Peter Thein Avenue in Belgium and may be contacted at: 262-476-5086.
