Please share a special weekend with the Port Washington Historical Society as we throw open our doors to celebrate and dedicate the installation of the 1860 Light House's new acrylic 4th Order Fresnel Lens.

 

The 1860 Light House and Light Station site will be open to the public free of charge during special hours, the 3rd weekend in May 2008.

 

Friday, May 16th:  1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Saturday, May 17th:  9:30 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Dedication Ceremony 11 a.m.

Light House reopens approx. 11:45 - 4 p.m.

Sunday, May 18th:  noon to 4 p.m.

 

In addition, we've spiced up the weekend with a few special events.

 

Friday evening:    

Dinner and a restoration retrospective at the

Port Washington Yacht Club

$25/person. Cash bar available.

Light Station tours resume following the ceremony

1860 Light House T'shirts, postcards and other souvenirs will be available, featuring the photographs and gifts of Lighthouse photographer, Linda Anderson.

 

Brats and hot dogs will be sold on Saturday only, 11:30 - 1:30.

 

Do you have a story to share? The 1860 Light House committee is seeking the names, histories and photos of persons or families that lived at the 1860 site. Anyone that can provide information, please contact Linda Nenn, 1-262-284-3755.  If you’re a USLHS or USCG member, please let us know whether you or a family member are able to attend our Saturday Ceremony, we'd like to recognize you.
